While i like the idea of privatization of water services, i can not avoid thinking of the urban poor who buy water at 25 times more expensive than the urban rich. And do you what they buy? Poor quality water from untreated construction wells.

Am a residence of Kayole Nairobi Kenya and the last time we got water in our flat was last year in June but am happy that recently the water has been coming to a place near our flat where we buy a African for ksh5. This is a good sigh though we don't know for how long the problem will persist.

Corruption in water in Nairobi is not new. For an interesting case study of a failed supply initiative, see this IIED study.
